3 months into my ED residency I was asked to move to Megsurg.

She wasn’t. In fact I had another nurse tell we were just backing off and letting you do things right now, but it won’t be like this when you’re working. Like that’s not helpful. One preceptor was just like going to let you do everything because you need to learn. She was the same one that told me I need to be receptive to feed back. I asked her why cardizem needed filter tubing while she was in a patients room and she told me I shouldn’t question her in front of patients.

She asked me what kind of insulin I was hanging for IV drip. I just didn’t feel confident in her judgement and I think it bled out. But when they were letting me go out director told me I didn’t have the critical thinking skills I needed for the ER.
