In 3 months the Switch will have been out for 2 years and moving into year 3. Are you satisfied with all the support the Switch has received from Nintendo?

I'm annoyed by year 2 because of how good year 1 was. If I was them I would've delayed Mario Odyssey until Christmas this year and released Smash earlier. They could've released the online service early in spring, Smash in the summer (that way any straddlers who didn't get online would get it anyway for Smash) and Odyssey in the winter with a Christmas day surprise DLC. The first year had too many games (as if that's a criticism) and it made year two feel VERY empty to me, especially as someone who isn't really into Smash. If I was working at Nintendo I would've checked year two and shifted some stuff around. I think it would've worked better when it comes to a feeling of momentum.

The internet service feels purposefully limited too like they're waiting until maybe next spring/summer to announce SNES games. NES and SNES should've both been included on release with some sort of insight into what we're expecting in the future. (Which is only fair, a console is around a 5 year investment.) I would've definitely signed up if that were the case and probably would've bought the classic controllers too. The online service NEEDS a massive overhaul. I 100% expected a QOL update for the OS along with them rolling out online. This is what I mean when I say Nintendo are just bad at business. They're bad at maintaining any kind of momentum and this year has just felt really slow, almost like they moved backwards a little. Especially with people's frustration regarding online slowly realizing things like "why does my friends list exist?" and memes like "so you can silently judge your friends' playtime" starting.

They should've released a few apps, a browser, a messaging system with online would've been amazing. Release a stylus with a new Mario Paint so we can play certain touch screen games too and draw pictures in the online chat. (You could do that on Wii U right?) Maybe a voice chat app where you can record messages and send them or talk live to your friends, a lobby system. (I wouldn't even mind if it was restricted for some games because I get that certain games need all the memory of the Switch so can't run background apps.) They should've released themes too.

I still play the Switch pretty much every day and love it, and am tempted to get more games over Christmas but it could've been a lot better this year. They never seem to realize their full potential. Something as small as just having SNES games on release would've got them WAY more customers. Right now I'm sitting online out until we get them. They could've even just released one or two remasters, Wind Waker, Mario Maker or Twilight Princess to fill some of the gaps this year. I just wish they'd time some things better and not be so stingy with others.

Most of all I'd love to see an online community similar to Mii-verse. I don't get why they got rid of that. The Wii U didn't get much right but the things it did get right were amazing. I loved the Wii U even with it's few games. I loved how they used online in Wind Waker, that was so creative. I loved how in Mario Maker people could leave notes. Bring all this back. Another annoying thing is that I thought for sure that we'd see an online community and a messaging service BECAUSE OF THE BIG DEAL THEY MADE OVER PARENTAL CONTROLS! They went out of their way to make a big deal out of parental controls which apparently work really well and then they did nothing with them. Come on Nintendo. Hopefully 2019 is different and is just as busy as 2017.
