Human rights mean we don't lock you up until after you commit a crime. Preemptively quarantining the innocent is inexcusable.

If they committed crimes, yeah. The increase in the incarceration rate was largely due to a legal response to the drug and crime waves of the 80s, not increased criminalization of the homeless. It's not like the 20s where people were being jailed for vagrancy.

Try to keep up with the conversation. If you didn't want to discuss 'limited government', then you shouldn't have made a post about it.

You're acting like a caricature of how a right-wing conservative would see a liberal. You're unabashedly championing social engineering despite restriction of civil liberties, using Salon as your main source, and going after the term "limited government" like it's some loaded phrase and not a pretty standard founding principle that many politicians, left and right, mention as a cornerstone of the US. So I'm still not gonna bother to give a proper response to this part. I used a phrase that set you off and that's your problem, not mine.
