30 is spoken about A LOT here but I feel lost

Closing in on 30 as well, and I feel similar. It reminds me of when I turned 25, the angst of constantly worrying "If I'm lucky enough to make it to 100, I've gone through 1/4th of my life."

Now as I approach 30 and realize how many people die around 75-80, I realize I'm approaching what is probably the end to the first 1/3 of my life.

You are not alone - many, many of millenials and gen-z are in a really shit position financially. Unless someone has a trustfund or got lucky by landing a cushy job, they're probably in the same boat as the rest of us.

Keep your head up and focus on the silverlining - as long as you have a roof over your head and food in your stomach, you're doing better than a lot of people in the world.

When you're feeling down, consider the fact that some people go to bed on the side of a busy highway under a tarp and spend their day-to-day begging for change.

The scary part of that is, a lot of us are closer to that than we are to the happy lives our grandparents were able to live - a big house with a family and able to send their kids to college all from working part-time at a home depot.
