I don't go in public with people who respond to conflict by making a big scene yelling and swearing. Period. If I was Janet this would be a Relationship Extinction Level Event.

I don't think you were wrong. The waitress was awful. But I'm not comfortable being in a romantic relationship with someone who shouts and swears when they are wronged. Taking someone aside for a quiet, stern talking to is fine with me. What you did is VERY not fine with me. I'm shy and I put a high value on being able to move through the world without drawing a bunch of attention to myself.

That doesn't even mean I think you shouldn't have yelled. I'm just not compatible with people who do.

I wonder if Janet feels the same way.
