I have a really horrible story of the TIFU variety. I used to work in social media for a cable network. Among other things I watched the episodes, and then I wrote short logline descriptions for the web. "Tune in to __________ tonight at 10pm as _________." Well, sometimes I got the episodes three or four months in advance and I wrote the descriptions way out and then copied and pasted them into the network's Facebook and Twitter feeds and sent them at the appropriate time. That should be fine, since the episode won't change, right? Well, for one episode I wrote, "Tonight on the series finale of ___________". Copied and pasted it three or four months later. All of a sudden, fans on social media are heartbroken. My boss runs into my office and tells me to pull it down. It turns out I had just announced the show's cancellation. I did my job. Then I had blinding, excruciating anxiety that I was going to get fired, and it didn't dissipate for days. I could barely look at my boss. It was awful.

The CBS intern who screwed this up is remarkably inept, but they're no worse than I was.
