34 yo. How do I turn my life into one that's worth living?

You're not alone, there are plenty of people that are struggling right now. The good thing is that you seem to have identified the areas of your life that need work.

If you want to turn your life around I'd recommend starting at the library and gym. Get some books on personal finance. It sounds like you're not happy with your $40k a year job so start looking for one that pays better. Get a book on interviewing. If you have an office job you might want to get books on stuff that you can add to your resume. I work with data so I've been boning up on SQL, Excel, and Access.

I mentioned going to the gym because regular exercise usually puts me in good spot mentally. Looking good also boosts confidence and makes it easier to find a girlfriend.

This is all just basic stuff and by no means comprehensive. Consider stopping or cutting back on drugs and alcohol. Once you have your finances sorted consider moving to a new city to get away from toxic people and to start over.

All that said, you might want to consider seeing a therapist at some point. They can help you with a lot of your personal issues.
