I think you have poor reading comprehension... I said the source of confusion for my statement could stem from me considering a larger portion of the population to be rich, so I consider an 18 dollar drink to be "for the rich", while you might not.

I never stated there was nothing worth doing, don't put words in my mouth, literally the first person to correct my statement I agreed with and affirmed I realize there are other things to do. (which again isn't meant to be taken literally you Neanderthal)

What do I do that's free... well good question... in the summer the mountains or nature, in the winter just dog walking. Besides that I cannot think of any activities I would truly say are worth mention and are free.

As for paid activities like in any city there is an affordable nightlife, almost felt like including that in my original but assumed people would be smart enough to not take me so literally. There are also plenty of street festivals and markets in the summer, but they do cost money and are of course centered around well off neighbourhoods making them prohibitively expensive to reach if you're in suburbia. As for the "too expensive" that would be a lot of places to eat and parts of the city, a lot of shopping and stores are overpriced, and a lot of the city is designed around shopping. The high taxes do not help either- property tax here is insane. Calgary is probably still the most expensive city in Canada for the low income bracket. Also poor job market. So taken together- not much extra money to spend on crap- and crap is more expensive. Can we be done now?
