I (37M) have a biological child who I've never seen (17F) wanting to make contact which I don't want but my family does. What should I do here?

I understand that OP has a lot of trauma, but people seem to be missing that it's also traumatic to not have a parent. My dad left me when I was a young child, I recently tried to reconnect with him and was ignored - the feeling of being unwanted by a parent, in this case her only parent, is gut wrenching - obviously my story is different because there's no rape involved and I still have a mother (albeit an abusive one), but keep in mind this girl didn't know the truth. The only villain in this story is the rapist, I can see why the parents wanted to help a girl whose whole world had fallen around her and had nothing else. OP doesn't have to have anything to do with her if he doesn't want to, but people are acting like this teenage girl is being manipulative with the letter etc... She just wants a family. Her and OP are likely both suffering from trauma right now and deserve love. People literally calling the grabdparents monsters for trying to help a girl whose family died are nuts; yeah they're not perfect, but the girl is a CHILD that they're trying to look after a bit.
