39 days to my trip! Tag to /r/irishtourism I am so excited!!

Hiya, I hope you will have a great trip here, Waterville is a bit quiet and peaceful and I hope you enjoy it if that's what you want to do.

I just have a question about the book you have on your desk.. 'International ID checking'. Do you work for the NSA/CIA/TSA? I'm just intrigued that such a book exists but thinking about it I can see why it does as when I lived in CA before I got my CA state DL and Residet Alien Card I would be asked questions about the validity of my 'Ye Olde Green Cardboard Irish Passport'.

Storytime: when I took the Greyhound from OC up to Bend, Oregon to see a friend we went to the local supermarket to buy some beer and wine as I was over 21 and legal. At the checkout I was carded and produced my Irish passport, CA Driver's Licence, RAC and the cashier refused to sell me the beer as I needed an instate Oregan DL. I asked to see the manager of the store and she paged him. Next thing the manager appeared and he's from County Monaghan here in Ireland.

Us Irish are all over the world and I'm sure you will have a great time here despite our unpredictable weather. Bring clothes for all seasons and hope for the best. Weare renowned for our friendliness.
