3DShacking Q&A General: Don't Copy That Floppy Edition

Hello! Long time reader, first time poster. I am kind of a noob at this in that I don't really know WHAT I am doing but I can do it just fine and follow directions and stuff. But I'm a little stuck so I am asking here for help.

I want to start using arm9loaderhax but I'm not sure where I'm starting from to figure out where to go! I have an o3DS, SysNAND 9.2 (unlinked), EmuNAND 10.7 (I haven't gotten around to updating yet). I remember using RxTools to set up everything but I haven't had it installed since then. I have EmuNAND9 installed in my homebrew menu but I can't remember if I have ever used it or not. I had been using CakesFW with menuhax and a boot.cfg file (I think that's CTRbootmanager?) to load into my EmuNAND and everything was peachy.

I checked this subreddit and noticed that Luma is the new best thing so I thought I would change over to that since everyone said it's so easy. It was easy to set up and now I'm running Luma with all traces of Cakes uninstalled. I also deleted my boot.cfg file and everything still works great. However I am having an issue loading up the Homebrew menu--I usually access it by loading up the CIA I installed to my EmuNAND but now when I do that it just loads up to a black screen. Other than that, though, my 3DS loads up into my EmuNAND and plays games just fine. So my questions are:

1) Can I start from this point) and proceed as normal with my current setup or will I hit a wall with not being able to get to homebrew menu from my EmuNAND?

2) Is there any way to fix my homebrew menu app?

3) Is there any reason I shouldn't attempt to set up A9LH?

Thanks so much for your help!
