40 year old rock station in Chicago replaced by Christian radio at midnight last night. Signed off with Motley Crue’s “Shout at the Devil”, Iron Maiden’s “The Number of the Beast”, and AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell".

There is but it’s getting harder to find. Not because the lack of avenues but because I’m not crazy about how everything sounds like pop. Auto tune has its uses to be sure. It’s just that everything is auto tuned so much that it’s all sounding the same to me. Even when the band is actually playing real instruments. There are no nuances left. The rawness is gone and even if it’s a “rock” band, it sounds so prepackaged and generic to me. Some exceptions are the Black Angels, Ty Segall, QOTSA, Dan Auerbach, and Arcade Fire. Take Weezer for example. I always liked them but “Feels Like Summer” is pop. Most everything on alt nation sounds like pop. I like a lot of music. Love Rap and Pop. Love when things are blended. But the over production of everything is watering it down and making it unpalatable to me. I’m just old I suppose.
