Came in under budget, if you want to max it out you can get a higher end i3. You're right at a jumping off point where you have to throw another $60 to bump up your GPU and another $100 to get to an i5, so we can come in under budget.
Since you aren't overclocking, the i3-4150 is probably the best CPU for you (a Pentium G3258 would be better if you were, as it's cheaper and overclocks like a beast). The R9 280x is a fantastic GPU, runs a little hot but gets you some serious power. The rest of the parts are generic - 8GB of ram, a H97 motherboard which is a little nicer than the H81M series, 1TB HDD, case, and a 500W PSU. It should run anything on the market, and better than the consoles can manage.
