410 -> 330, 8mos, 80lbs down, 35yo, 6'3". the long, slow march of the tortoise.

I hope it works for you. Just don't sweat it if you fuck up. My first couple months were littered with fuck up days. You can see it in the graph. I'd bounce back to 3,000 or near there. And IPAs had a whole lot to do with it. I still ain't a tea totaller. But my advice? White Claw hard seltzer. Truly if you can't get it. It's not manly at all. You're going to feel like an asshole buying it. But you can crush 12 for just 1200 calories. It ain't healthy either. But if you're gonna binge, a 12 pack of IPA will hit you for like 3000. Better to go the 1200 route.

Ease into being happy with 6, when and if you can. I've never been a daily drinker. But I have been that asshole at college that polishes off a 30 pack once in a while and keeps trucking. And I ain't gonna lie to you and say I ain't downed a few on a Tuesday more than once since I began this. But 100 calorie drinks really take the edge off the damage, even if they're still not good for you. And at least the seltzers still hit at 5%, where the ultra beers don't. I never let it go above 12 the whole time I've been at this. Docs would probably say this is shit advice. But let's be real. If you're having that kind of day you're gonna drink, unless you kick completely, you're gonna drink.

You can hit the bottle pretty hard and still stay under 2,000 for the day. Danger is the next day. For whatever reason, I tend to get the fucking hungry horrors the morning after I drink. You know my hangover cure now? A can of no salt added green beans. The whole damn thing. I just shove it down my gullet. If I'm really craving salt, I'll wash it down with a pickle. Tends to shut up the nonsense.

This is not great advice. It is not healthy. But it has more or less worked for me. That said, I haven't drank on a week day (Fridays excluded) in a couple months. I tend to try to keep it to one day per week now. And I aim for 6. But I'm a big boy. And Lord do I like fun. So YMMV.

Just keep it measured. I have another post in this thread where I was around 1,000 calories for the day. If you're gonna drink hard, eat like that, and down 12 seltzers. At least you'll walk away with 2,200 on the clock for the day. Eat a few slices of pizza and drink a 6 pack of IPAs and you're looking at maybe 4,000 just at dinner. Even if you only do that once per week, that fucks you. And it's roughly how I ended up so huge.
