42% of Americans have less than $10,000 saved and will retire broke.

I’m sure every American that is going through hard financial and health times doesn’t appreciate your bullshit either bruh.

You’re the problem because if enough people are ok with something it won’t change. I am not suggesting you somehow are working in DC as a politician. You’re clearly mid twenties.

When a system(the government) controls interest rates and markets, you can blame the system. If you don’t realize they do yet, research interest rates for mortgages and how they’re established(hint, it’s established by the federal government). Not to mention property taxes. Research how government mandated 401ks and tax breaks are happening and becoming commonplace instead of pensions. I would prefer my retirement savings didn’t rely on a highly volatile market. Imagine if 2009 hit when you retired at 65? You would’ve lost more than 30% of your 401k(so in your situation if you retired now you’d have a whopping 7,000$ for the rest of your life, much wow! America the great!). Pension plans are much better for individuals, where 401ks are best at artificially pumping up a “free market”

Ya, we live in America. Not, it’s not best. Maybe compared to Libya or something we’re the best? I’d say probably Finland was the best. My point was that I have worked hard and saved, yet still have no guarantees and am in poor health. A drastic downturn in my health would make me lose my house, job, etc due to the inability work. Down payment (130k+) of my house would be gone. This is a very common thing. 55% of Americans take prescription drugs. The American dream existed in the 80s-90s when you could buy a house for 100k. It’s fucked up now and something needs to be done.
