These are absolutely social issues that need addressing, but that doesn't change the fact that women that are murdered are extremely likely to have been murdered by their partner. The most common cause of death for pregnant women is homicide, usually at the hands of their partner. Women are more likely to be victims of domestic abuse and that abuse is far more likely to result is severe injury or death. Categorizing the murder of women by their partners as controversial because men die more in different ways is dismissive at best and misogynistic at worst.
