45 hours a week is just a punishment for being alive at this point. A rant from probably the only libertarian and capitalist here.

Hey fellow libertarian! I don’t think you’re alone on this sub. Being middle class absolutely sucks because the middle class does all of the work and pays all of the taxes. It’s actually always been like that in the U.S, but now the poor and working class have the internet to compare notes. I don’t know your situation but I used to be in “job hell” as well and I give everyone the same advice, because it works.

I think Step 1 is figuring out what you want your life to actually look like. Like, on the day to day basis what is it that you want to be doing, if not working? I knew that I didn’t want to spend my life working for money, even a lot of money. I genuinely enjoy smoking weed playing video games and sitting outside in my backyard. If that’s all I did for the rest of my life I would be happy. So with that in mind I made a budget that I could live on, and that required every little work on my part to meet and exceed. I had to move and leave friends and family and make a ton of sacrifices, but to me nothing is worth more than my freedom and my time. I spent one week a month door dashing and other gig/feeelance work. The rest of the month I’m free. I’ve never been happier in my life.
