45% of millennials say cost of living hold them back from buying homes

That's exactly where I want to move.

Right now I'm in Chicago, renting, and I actually love it. But I want a place of my own. And $600k on a 1500 sq. ft. 2br/2ba condo with $15k/year property taxes in my current neighborhood just isn't realistic. A place like that costs upwards of $4,000/month just between mortgage, COA, and taxes.

Plus we have IL's pension crisis, which the state seems to be handling by putting its fingers in its ears and yelling at Chicago to give it more money.

Chicago is an awesome city in a really shitty state, and I can't see staying here much longer. And I want to move back out west, but . . . Goddamn to SF, Portland, and Seattle suck right now. The whole Bay area would be straight up /r/urbanhell if it wasn't infesting one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

So, Boise is looking pretty awesome.
