[#48|+1893|258] Twitter accused of shutting down Hillary critics Bernie Sanders supporters are saying their Twitter account was “censored and locked down” after they criticized Hillary Clinton. [/r/politics]

I'm sorry, but I'm not sorry: the comments in this thread are making me extremely sad. I usually just stay quiet and continue to lurk about stuff like this but I really just need to talk about this.

When something is deleted from a subreddit, it's deleted because it breaks the subreddit rules. This article is not about anything Sanders or Hilary has done or has been directly involved with. The article is about Twitter, and Twitter's treatment towards its users in light of the usage of a hashtag. It's more suited to /r/technology than politics.

Think about it this way: there's no easy way to gear the discussion about this towards politics other than just randomly bringing up shitty things Hillary did, or bringing up awesome things Bernie did. It wouldn't pertain to discussion of the aforementioned subjects: Twitter and its users.

The rules might not be as explicit or even good but that doesn't mean the moderators need to add exceptions to them. One exception leads to many, and the sub turns into a shitstorm. Whoops.

It annoys me how people are quick to call mods corrupt or shills, but honestly, if they're doing their job right, who gives a flying shit? Sure, I won't really agree with someone's opinion that Hillary could even come close to being as good of a candidate as Bernie, but I'm not going to tie in their moderation decisions because of that.

In addendum, and I'm honestly surprised I even have to point this out: please look at the subreddit. Practically 90% of the posts that show up are either pro-Bernie, anti-Hillary, or similar. I think I've only actually ever seen one anti-Bernie post, about his voting record in the past relating to gun regulation, but that alone is a stretch.

So I'll just end off this random rant written at some inane time after midnight with this: objectivity. Please keep a level, unbiased head and think straight-forward about things like this. Form a somewhat legible line of logic before pointing fingers, throwing out the word "censorship" and starting a riot. Reddit, please. You're better than this.
