49% of British Columbians say home internet slower due to COVID-19 pandemic

I think it's likely neighbourhood dependent.

Speeds have been struggling for me. I'm not surprised, my neighbourhood has had a large buildout recently and Shaw probably hasn't caught up.

I do a lot of large downloads and a lot of speedtests so I have a very good sense of how Shaw Internet 600 has performed over the 7 months I've had the service. In addition to about a 20% drop in download speed the time it takes to get to the maximum is way down... in the past I used to hit 600+ Mbps in the first few seconds of a speedtest. Since the start of people being home due to COVID-19 what I see is speedtests starting out around 150 Mbps then slowly increasing speed to about 500 Mbps over 10 or so seconds.
