It’s weird, I know that 4chan is an awful cesspool of hate, and I know that this is objectively a good thing, but it’s hard to not feel a little bittersweet about it being shut down. It’s been years, but I was super depressed and used to browse /mu/ a lot — I found incredible music that I probably never would have otherwise, and even made some close friends through share threads and listenalongs. It was really nice, actually, we all supported each other and talked our shit out. But, between those threads were racist memes and sexism and every other awful thing you can imagine.

It’s just sad because for whatever reason 4chan attracted a lot of sad introverts, and some of them got fucked up and latched onto that weird, angry culture. Like they couldn’t grow up or something.
