4K disappointment

This made me sign up to reddit, lol. Situation is similar to mine since my last build (6-7y old comp with a few upgraded parts, that went south recently), got a 1070 also.

I needed a monitor so I found a 4k on sale when I was at Best Buy returning the old monitor (also went south, was a MX279H (Asus IPS 1080p 60Hz)). The monitor I got was from Samsung & had freesynce, but was a TN panel. Other than a stuck pixel the day I got it (seriously?) I realized that it just ain't the time for 4K yet and looked and found a Asus MX27AQ & had Best Buy get it for me. (1440p version of my old monitor, also 60Hz)

I can't strain enough how amazing it looks and the improvement. Plus I tried the display port cable for the first time ever, and holy cow that's impressive. (clarity and vividness over enhancement & sharpness as the hdmi displayed) (plus I luckily got 0 back light bleeding (or any color bleeding either) as I did with my original IPS monitor.)

Idk bout a 144Hz monitor (never used one), but I was impressed (am still) with what I got & would advise giving this type of monitor (or this one specifically) a shot.
