5 months without lifting. About to get back into it starting Monday. Best way to maximize recovery?

I mean, it does matter. If I eat at 8 in the morning and nothing for 6 hours straight and then go lifting, my session will be absolute garbage. Doing that for months will 100% have an impact.

There is benefits to having higher amounts of meals with ~30 grams of protein per meal for muscle growth. That's not broscience, that's actual science looking at muscle protein synthesis and hypertrophy in the "long term" (aka 6 weeks or so for studies). However, if you have a normal eating schedule of eating 3-5x per day, it doesn't matter all that much for your average lifter. Just don't do stupid shit like the part I wrote above and you'll be just fine.
