Last year I was in the hospital for a week due to a severe bone infection that was eating me from the inside out. Had surgery day one. Spent rest of the time with IVs in my arm giving me antibiotics every 2 hours. Painful as fuck. But weirdly I was happiest there than I’d been for a long time. Got medical leave so didn’t need to worry about working. Laid in the hospital bed having people bring me my meals like a king, which were very good. Had a custom menu you could order from. My SO would come by everyday after work and lay in the bed with me and play video games/keep my company and cuddle. I’m American so of course the medical bill was over $200,000 but have good insurance which paid the majority of it.
