You get 500,000,000 dollars that you don’t have to pay taxes on, but you lose 1 dollar a second

I'd definitely take the deal. Especially right now with interests so low, you can even invest with leverage and safe money by doing it, because the interest on loans will be much less than the amount you lose anyway. Buy a bunch of real estate with mortgages, pay someone to manage the renting out. If you buy around 500 properties that pay just 530 bucks a month in rent you would already break even. If we assume each property costs 500 thousand, you could buy them all without a mortgage and still have half your money left. Factor in leverage with like a 20% down payment and the rest with a mortgage, you can buy 5 times as many properties. After mortgage payment, management fees, taxes, that should still leave you with way more than what you need. Then you can put 200 mill in stocks just to have that money work too, and 50 mil to spend.
