54r technical data

I have a tuned mosin, rebarreled and with a mounted rail.

Rebarrelling the mosin took a good gun far beyond my expectations. I’m going for man-half man sized targets. I am accepting it will not be a pin point platform. I wanted to add a semi auto rifle to that joy of shooting 54r

I didnt realize i could max out my kns piston to effectively make the vepr a bolt gun.

I am looking to add a longer barrel and removing the oem stepping down and contouring. In doing this the front gas block barrel ring needs to be enlarged some. I am half convinced i can simply modify a clamp style gas block. Paying to have one milled would add probably 300-500 bucks and im ok with that.

I believe there is zero step down between the trunnion and rear site block if there is i suppose i would concede and step down to only need a modified front site block.

I am currently deployed and do not have the gun infront of me but if i recall the barrel was similar to a psl and stepped down to the front site, and that contoured down to the muzzle.

I will not have a front site, as i intend to have a canted site. The hand-guard genuinely not very worried about. I do plan to concoct something that avoids adding negatively to the barrel harmonics ie not have those multi point clamp on handguard. I currently have a manticore keymod
