[5e] Matrix defense and other perspectives on shadowrun

To put a real perspective on this, with most people being mundane humans with little to no security, you don’t NEED rating 6 across the board to be dangerous. Just having the kit with the capacity (rating 1) to do it will get results, and rating 3 will get results the majority of the time against rating 0. And that’s where the overwhelming majority of those acts take place, in the rating 0-3 range.

Running with a Decker who you don’t know, you’re going to want a bit of security. Security that will work, but no hardware measures stand up to a good PC Decker. If you’re infiltrating a corp facility, again, you’re absolutely not going to want to be broadcasting your position, never mind compromise access to your cyber torso.

This is where things become a ‘must have’ and such must have kit, especially when it’s such a resource sink, is a rule rework waiting to happen.
