6 Video Games That Accidentally Make You The Bad Guy

submitted this because the Harley Quinn point is very very relevant: in the game, she's made out to be unhinged and superbly dependent upon the existence of the Joker. you can find out that she's pregnant and she'll start singing a song. you still have to beat the shit out of her when she's pregnant. and then the devs put in some DLC that shows she's no longer pregnant.

there's also the point about Star Trek Online, wherein the devs completely intended to create a whole thought-provoking arc of redemption and the ills of acting solely on instruction of authority...but didn't finish the redemption part so you just end up murdering a bunch of innocents and it all gets covered up by your superiors with no justice brought to anyone involved.

then the point regarding Mirror's Edge, where there is a murder you are forced to commit which has absolutely no effect on the plot, the character, or even the achievements. it's almost a cartoony "murder for humor" situation that is completely unavoidable.

finally, the points regarding Final Fantasy:

so, the FFVII point seems pretty alright; AVALANCHE commits some acts of terrorism upon the citizens of both upper and lower Midgar, Cait Sith grills them by pointing out that they killed plenty of innocents in their fight against Shinra, and Barret tries to justify it but overall kinda has to accept that yeah, AVALANCHE did some really shitty things that helped nobody.

the FFTA point, well...I've not completed that game. but if the screenshots and the article are correct, then holy shit Marche is a fucking terrible person. maybe. I dunno. maybe the whole point was something about how it's bad to live in a dream world detached from reality, but isn't the FFTA world reality? and is there any evidence that this dream world they brought about made life worse for other people? and also...did Marche really have to lie to his little brother about being able to walk again if they go home, just to put him in front of a TV as if that solves everything?

again, haven't finished the game, I got like ten hours into it before life happened and I don't have the game anymore.

can someone who has finished the game give some insight?
