61 Mayors commit to adopt, honor and uphold Paris Climate Agreement goals. Every major California city is included except for... San Diego

The whole premise of the agreement is that global cooperation is needed to address a global problem. Whether you personally agree with it or not, it's not difficult to understand the logic that wealthier nations provide financial assistance to poorer nations to help them meet their emissions goals. We have the means, they don't.

We don't "win" if we make it harder for everyone else to find solutions to a problem that affects us too.

It's not a geopolitical "win", since the country just yielded its leverage and made China the global leader on the issue.

It's not a "win" for fact-based worldviews, since the overwhelming majority of experts agree that anthropogenic climate change isn't a Chinese hoax.

It's not a political "win" for Trump, since the agreement is supported by the majority of people in all 50 states.

Lets stop pretending everything Trump does is 5D intergalactic Candyland. The dude has demonstrated nuanced understanding of approximately 0 issues since taking office. He can't communicate a single complicated idea because he cannot speak from a position of authority or expertise on anything, except maybe hotels and golf courses. I highly, highly doubt Trump understands even a fraction of the implications of his decision - good or bad.
