62 miles in 26min: flatout in a GTI (not lifting off even once)

It would be incredible if I could do even 120/130kph around big cities here ... 90% of the time you're lucky if you're moving.

Traffic is very different around big cities in Rhine Ruhr area and relatively standalone-ish big cities. In case of latter, you don't have much of slow down until you get to the section that is pretty closely located to the city (except for rush hours), because there are not much of cities around, unlike the Rhine Ruhr area.

140kph is basically the maximum you can go here without getting your car impounded and your license taken (limit 100kph, most people do 120kph, arrested at 150kph).

That's what I said. If the limit is 120kph, 140kph is normal. If it's 100kph, 120kph is normal. However, the most common speed limit around the intersections of Autobahns are 120kph (followed by 100kph and 80kph). The one with 100kph general speed limit is Bundesstraße, not Autobahn.
