62% of voters say they feel less proud of America after 2016 election

I do help out when I can

No you don't - not really - and it's painfully obvious from the excuses laid out in your response.

Your inability to take action isn't because of "the system", it's because you don't really care about any of this... and you know it. Deep down, you don't actually give that much of a fuck - but it feels good to commiserate with others on the internet, right?

OP you responded to is correct. There are plenty of things you could be doing - as individual, with the skills you possess - to implement and work toward change. You're so blinded by the fact that you can't "change the entire system" - your words - that you can't see all of the meaningful things right under your nose that you could be doing.

Donate 10% of your discretionary income EVERY SINGLE MONTH to causes you care about. Fuck it - donate HALF of your discretionary income. If you really, actually gave a shit, you'd save 10% of your fun money for yourself, and spend the other 90% on causes or activities that helped others.

If you don't make much but have spare time... donate your time. If you've got both time and money, donate both!

The next time you take a vacation, instead of playing video games and binging Netflix (or going to Cabo, whatever the case may be), take those vacation days and work at a homeless or abuse shelter. Provide free tutoring to students and families who can't afford to pay for it. There. is. plenty. you. can. do.

But we both know you're not actually gonna do shit about shit. "Woe is me, the SYSTEM maaaan" and all that.
