63 Sandwiches in 1 1/2 hours!?! How dare they!

This whole post triggers ptsd in me

I managed a subway and one of my last weekend there (this event actually pushed me over the fuck it point)

It was Friday, I was already stressed running a busy ass lunch and we had just found enough time to catch up for what was to be a crazy dinner (sports games going on in town)

We just catch up and we are ready for dinner when I get a phone call. It’s a coach who wants to put in his order for his entire baseball team

I’m talking he has about 40 people with him. They want foot Longs and cookies and you name it

Each sandwich has specific instructions I have to write out by hand

Our owners motto is NEVER SAY NO TO A CUSTOMER WE CAN ALWAYS DO WHAT THEY WANT

I am literally shaking in a panic when I hang up the phone.

I have two workers with me and dinner about to hit

I’m trying to bust out these sandwiches when I look out the window and I see the local mentally challenged nursing home place unloading their small bus of patients.

I literally wanted to cry and die. These patients each order one by one and it’s very hard and trying to understand them. Usually takes a good half hour to get them thru

So I have the bus unloading, baseball team coming and my dinner rush starting

I have never felt so overwhelmed in my life

I tried my best to get it done and I did.... my store was a disaster after

I stayed two hours after my shift to clean up in back and make more bread and make sure they were ok before I felt it was ok to go home

Found out my staff complained to my boss about my attitude that day how I was upset about the order and how I left them with a mess

I was Fucking done

When my boss confronted me that Monday I said I sure as hell did have a hard time with that order and I put in my two weeks notice on the spot
