64 Videos Show the N.Y.P.D. Meeting Protesters With Fists, Clubs and Body Slams

I have a family member who is a cop and genuinely cannot stand cops. Early in his career he was asked if he wanted to go “arrest people for drugs” and he said “my job isn’t to arrest people, it is to help people.” To date, he has never made a drug arrest and only focuses on calls that most cops avoid, like domestic abuse or mental illness cases. Needless to say, that comment made him less popular with his peers. He is presently trying to become a trainer so he can start dealing with problem officers as soon as possible. Another close friend of mine recently quit being a trainer. He got into field training for the same reason as my family member but ultimately decided the problem was bigger than anything he could fix. The sad part is, we need police like these two guys and this climate is chasing them away, leaving a void that will ultimately be filled with villainous scum (I’ve never used that phrase in common speech but right now feels like the right time.)
