7 years of dota and i decided to quit today

But the irony is that the pile of dishes isn't that hard to do, it just feels like it. One dish at a time and you'll be done before you even know it. Get your shit finished, THEN enjoy a much more relaxing and fun game of Dota!

Things are also often way easier to do if you do them asap and doing even the smallest tasks you can (or you can slice a big project into smaller tasks) is a great way to get motivated and gain enough momentum to tackle harder tasks.

I knew people who wanted to get in shape before they started doing sport again because any amount of effort made them feel like crap and I've been through that too but it's doing physical exercise that makes you feel lighter and better and more able to do sport.

It's the same with many things : dishes are easier to do when you've just finished eating rather than a few hours later when the plate is cold and looks disgusting ... homework is easier to do when your class is still fresh in mind and it feels way better having it done weeks before the deadline rather than have that in mind pestering you and looking more and more impossible as the deadline gets close (it can even become impossible if more projects have appeared in the meantime) ... it's easy putting your clothes in the laundry basket when you've just changed clothes rather than a few days later when the smell of sweat is becoming more present ... it's easier doing tasks in the morning when you just got to work rather than at the end of the day when you only want to get back home.

It's like, delaying things feels easier at first but we only make it harder for our future selves, now I'd rather do things asap and do them regardless of my chances of success than wait and wait until it feels impossible to do them (plus, you feel extra-stupid when you've delayed doing something for weeks and it turns out to be a really easy 30-minutes task you can do and forget about immediately).
