73% of Trump's Hires Are Men

I'm not them, but my guess is that they are arguing against the assumption that the lack of gender balance is due to misogyny as is being claimed.

I can understand* their point. The average age for a DC politician (and CEO) is 50-70 years old. A woman of that age range was born and raised in a time where she was expected to focus on the home, rather than the office. So instead of going to school and getting a degree in Political Science. She was at home taking care of the midgets.

The lack of women in positions of power is more likely to do with the time it takes for us to see the results of societal changes (women in the workplace vs at home) than any conscious effort to build glass ceilings.

Now obviously when talking about specific people (in this case Trump) and their specific actions, the generational delay theory isn't a one size fits all. I'm just pointing out (and assuming /u/claudiakishihere was trying to also) there is a non-nefarious reason for the general gender imbalance we see today.

*: Understanding something does not mean you necessarily agree with it. It's pretty much required unless you want to talk past those who you disagree with. Otherwise you may find yourself arguing a straw-man of your own making.
