[8/7 - 8/13] New? Have a "stupid question"? Introduce yourselves and/or ask away here!

Hi, All, Today I was reading Unlearned Language- Studies in Xenoglossy by reincarnation researcher, Ian Stevenson. I flatter myself that I'm a well-read person, but in my 60 years I had never come across the notion that normal, healthy people could be the amalgam of distinct but interacting subpersonalities. It certainly jibes with both my observation of fellow humans and the goings on inside my head. So I did a Reddit search and found Tulpas I started reading only to learn this is something that I've already done, I just didn't know it was a thing.

Mine is named Mickey, a 9 year old boyI didn't create him, he just showed up on his own and hung around for 30+ years. He began as a decades-long recurring dream character. At first I would encounter him when I was lost, in a city or the woods. He would be sitting under a tree, reading and usually had a ratty little terrier with him. We would chat briefly, then he would tell me how to find my way. He always wore a blue t-shirt with a sloppily painted sun & moon design with the words Shine Openly on it and before I left him he would always end by insisting that I move to Seattle. Over the years, he has evolved into an independent person with a mind of his own & is now the person I argue with whenever something in my dreams isn't going the way I want or is disappointing in some way. He doesn't appear much in dreams anymore, but he's been around so long, I consider him to be as real a person as I am in the waking world. Anyway, I'm glad I have stumbled upon this sub - I'm sure I can learn something here.
