8 years in, Just pulled my shore duty orders with intention to separate.

It comes down to a lot of personal choice. The Navy has a lot of good, and a lot of bad.

But a few years ago I fully intended to make the Navy a Career. Now at my 8 year mark, I recently put in to extend PRD to EAOS.

I can't quite explain it..... I feel something has changed in the Navy. Maybe it was COVID, or just the fact that Americans in general are less happy. I don't care about the people I work with anymore. Everyone seems burned out, or abusive, or depressed, or angry, or an alcoholic, etc.

I try to hang out with Civilians a lot. And something about tit has really solidified this in my mind. A lot of civilians just seem happier.
