80k salary for new grad with 3years of experience

Not a CS major, but I am a lurker looking for a career change into the field.

I have negotiating and requested salary adjustments in my profession.

It sounds like you have the credentials and experience to make more based on what I just skimmed around here. Though cost of living may play a factor just not sure how much.

I would honestly pitch a higher number to them and meet you in the middle. The worse would do is decline your number and stay firm on their original.

Look at Glassdoor and sites like payscale to build your case. Also look at what the government equivalent job I paying in your area. That should help give you a ball park range.

Good luck.
