The former police colonel, with 35 years' service, admitted he used his position and resources as head of a Germiston amoury to supply weapons to criminals and an arms dealer. Over a period of eight years, Prinsloo says he and other colleagues stole 2,400 guns, making more than R2 million. Prinsloo will serve the 18-year jail term effective immediately.

It's infuriating. On saturday a 14-year-old boy got caught in the crossfire between two gangs. I know the Dr who had to amputate his leg from above the knee. Any hope of upliftment for these people is crushed by the gross incompetence and corruption in this country.
