9 teams have qualified for every WC since 98: Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Spain, South Korea, Mexico, France, England and Japan

I forgot to address that.

Ronaldinho at his prime is one of the most both footed players on the planet.

Passing wise? Similar level to Gylfi except much faster execution, along with ten times more trickery & skill moves.

Crossing? Gylfi is miles better on both feet.

Finishing? Gylfi is miles better on both feet, inside or outside the box.

Corners? Penalties? Free kicks? Set pieces? Gylfi has the advantage in all.

Heading? Very similar but I'd give Ronaldinho the advantage.

Ronaldinho was 'worse' in many aspects, but more effective based on his superior strength/pace/balance/trickery.

Running down the flank it wouldn't matter if Ronaldinho is slightly worse because at least he would be in the position to deliver a ball, while Gylfi simply isn't capable of running down the flank like R7 could.

Ronaldinho is a better forward, Gylfi is a better midfielder/playmaker. However this is all relative to the formation, style of play, players & manager.

Gylfi could in theory thrive better on the flank than R7 under the right circumstances.

But what makes Gylfi a better player than R7 in my mind is his workrate, defending & variety of positions.

R7 partied way too much, didn't defend & was limited to being a winger, striker or Playmaker. Gylfi can play all of those positions, and also CM/DM, and even defend on the flanks like a PL fullback.

Statistically speaking they're fairly similar. I don't think prime R7 could've saved Swansea from relegation time & time again like Gylfi did, but I think R7 would thrive better in the current Everton side because we have no wingers or strikers in the side.

Thus a faster, more mobile player capable of running into positions would thrive better than having to rely on pacier/stronger team mates to pass you the ball when you're in the right position.
