I don't understand how they can still get away with claiming the inflation is like 6% when prices for everything from groceries, cars, car maintenance, houses, rent, home renovations, insurance, utilities, education, health care, child care, and all kinds of basic services seem to have increased around 150%-200% or more in just the last few years. And that doesn't even capture the shrinkflation and the litany of "COVID-mask-mandate-supply-chain-microchips-Ukrainian-war-bird-flu-difficult-economy"-excuses they use when providing far worse and more restricted services, shorter hours, lack of selection, lack of availability, additional fees and the complete evaporation of many kinds of incentives and bonuses like free shipping, with at best the same prices, if not significantly increased prices, which further reduces your dollar's effective value.

Tell me inflation's not one of the most intentionally fudged numbers in history and I'll try really hard to believe you.
