What are you looking for? Good BBQ? The place to get a drink and find ladies? Music? Museums? Cover bands? Jazz? Rodeo? Kid stuff? Burgers? Breweries?

I think BBQ is a Texas must, so my personal favorite is Slow Bone, but Pecan Lodge is also a good option. Uptown is the place to go get a drink. Several good bars I can recommend there. There is a Jazz lounge in Ft Worth that is sort of speakeasy-ish that is really cool. Also all the cowboy/rodeo stuff is in in FW. The Dallas arboretum is always beautiful, has a kids garden, and also has a summer music series. We saw an 80s cover band there that was awesome. The arboretum is also on White Rock Lake, which has a huge trail for running/biking. There is also the Katy Trail, which is in uptown. It is shorter than white rock, but there are bars and places to eat along it. I should mention here that the Katy Trail Ice House is a great spot, but a little pricy as of late. For kids and adults that like science and animals, the Perot museum and Dallas World Aquarium are both really awesome. There are several local burger places that are excellent, so many recommendations there. Several microbreweries and brewpubs in and around DFW, as well as a new cider place. I've visited most of them, so again, several recommendations if you are into brewery tours.
