Abby's abuse of Maddie was terrible. Why don't more people see this?

I think people don’t see it because it just wasn’t as blatantly obvious as the other girls. I think the word abuse is what confuses people. Idk maybe a more accurate word is the way Abby “manipulated” her. Even for me it’s hard to associate the word abused with Maddie because comparing it to the other girls it just doesn’t seem the same. Even though I completely agree with everything you said. I think just the difference is that Maddie was able to succeed she was told she could do anything. She was given confidence while the other girls, left with none. Then the explanations that you have heard from the girls on how they show made them feel are so different. Maddie usually just says it was stressful and the pressure was hard (and there is no denying that girl felt pressure to be perfect from Abby, but I do feel like a lot of that comes from Melissa or just Maddie herself considering she said Maddie was a perfectionist in I believe the first eps of DM) then when you hear the other girls talk about it. They talk about the pressure, stress, the lack of confidence that they still struggle with. They talk about how it made them question who they were. You just see how much it deeply affected them and still does even after years of being away from it. Where as Maddie you just don’t see that from her. I think that’s just where people get confused and it’s hard for them to see.
