ABC Ripponlea: Closure of 'The Dream Factory' Studio 31 an end of an era in Australian TV

"it created a culture. It's a culture that is this broadcast that we are all proud of. We are proud that we're a public broadcaster."

The people working in that building had enormous influence on our national culture.

This is the first and only info I've seen on this topic. Seems weird that this in-house article does not give any reason for the closure, or explain how it will be replaced.

Public broadcasters and the public open peer-to-peer internet are gradually being shut down. Because they provide powerful platforms for expression and sharing of ideas that might undermine corporate for-profit goals.

Think about where we are heading. Google/YouTube, Facebook and Amazon are aiming to control (and profit from) shared culture. Similar to how Bunnings now controls retail hardware by eliminating all competitors.
