Abdal Hakim Murad on the new Star Wars, modern masculinity, and feminism

Had he referred to Quran and Sunnah he would have a) utterly destroyed any notion of Feminism being compatible with Islam (this being the objective reality of Islamic teachings) and b) stooped down to the intellectual dishonesty of Muslim Feminists (in resorting to unqualified ijtihad.) All he needs is one ayah, wa laysa adh-dhakaru ka 'l-unthaa the male is not like the female, even though there are dozens of verses and hadith he can draw from. If you really are interested in a scholar's view, I refer you to Sheikh Abdul Hakim Murad (who cites the above ayah himself) in the OP's video,

Yes, the male is not like the female and Allah (swt) has given them different roles and rights and responsibilities. Advancing women's rights or fighting to provide them with full opportunities does not at all contravene this ayah or the teachings of Islam. To the extent that it would, then it is incompatible, but there is significant room for improvement in meeting the Islamic ideal of women's rights even in Islamic countries, and ensuring that such rights are received is both Islamic and feministic work.

However, I've dealt with enough Muslim Feminists to know that you are not interested in Islamic scholars' views unless it suits a Feminist agenda. The author of the article knows it too, and mentions it in the section "Waa Patriarchaa!" (a play on words from the famous "Waa Mu'tasima!" incident in Muslim history.)

Strawman with regards to this debate. I said there's a lack of argument rooted in Islamic jurisprudence and you're arguing against the hypothetical that I do not.

Given that the dictionary and majority of Feminists agree with me, my assertion that Muslim Feminists have cognitive dissonance is absolutely correct. The dictionary and the vast majority of feminists would also agree that working to advance women's rights is feminism. So my point about your pertinacity stands. In your opinion. Given that all of your objections are, in fact, your opinion and not the objective truth, yes it is. "In your opinion" is the best response to any and all nonsensical claims made by SJWs.

You don't need to be a greater debater to know that replying 'in your opinion' to a point made is a cop-out and admits that you don't have any rational point to make in response. The importance of adaab in teachers is well-established Islamically and otherwise, so judging a scholar by his adab is valid. Since you clearly realize this 'scholar' fails that aspect, you have nothing real to say in response. Your use of 'SJW' also tells me you shut down rational thought and resort to labels in the face of ideas that you cannot handle or rebut. Another weak aspect of your debating skills. I also liked how you conveniently ignored the parts of my post you couldn't refute. I'm not in the place to judge your faith or level of ilm, Allah knows best, but your skills at argument leave a lot to be desired.
