The ability to combine fusion cores would be a game changer and one of the most useful additions to this game.

NOTHING in this game takes more than five minutes to get enough of ANYTHING to utilize in whatever you're about to do

That's just not true. You wanna run that shiny new Two-Shot LMG you found, for instance? Sure, you've got 4000 .308 ammo on you right now, but after two events or so all that ammo will be gone and you'll need to get more (plus the gun itself will break 3 times over in the process).

Wanna craft more ammo? Okay, go for it. Now you've burned through all your lead, gunpowder and steel crafting it at like 12 rounds per craft, netting enough ammo for two magazines that are gonna last maybe 4 and a half seconds of continuous fire.

Okay, you think, I'll just go take over workshops and collect the resources I need to make the other resources I need to make the ammo! Now you've burnt through all your acid smelting that lead ore and making gunpowder and used up all those newly crafted resources again, and netted yourself another 48 rounds, a.k.a. about a second and a half of continuous fire.

That's fine, you say, I'll just farm the ammo itself! Okay, have fun killing 75 scorched (and that's if you get lucky and find 75 consecutive Hunting Rifle scorched and no melee or shotgunners) for one round apiece to be able to fill one magazine.

I'm speaking from experience here, the ammo economy for the LMG (and a lot of the heavy weapons, the Flamer in particular) is just busted.

Some things in this game are abundant, including fusion cores, while many others are absolutely not.
