Abolishing the Senate would see Canadians better represented, NDP leader says

As I said in another thread on the same subject we could do it many ways:

Elected 2 years after the Federal election (mid term elections like the USA) but make it a proportional then the party leaders choose the senators, no need for a real election campaign

Same thing but as to not increase costs just base the elections on the proportional results of the previous governmental elections

Since they're split between provinces already, have the provincial governments choose their senators as they retire, not the Federal government

Same as the previous suggestion but have people vote on it province by province

And so on, there are many ways we could make it better and we could even solve the need for an electoral reform at the same time...
