I feel for you strongly with the lgbt. But there is a strong difference. Statistically speaking abortion rights have been regressing in decades. Not getting better. This backlash came about as it got worse in a strong way. Not simply because people were motivated.

I think that's going to be the case to in things getting better. But as you said, it will happen via strong strong reaction. Because so far. Up until now they haven't been well protected. The process has for the most part gotten repeatedly harder on average. And arguably because we didn't take it more seriously sooner.
