Meh. Only way we stay ahead of China’s GDP and retain sole hegemony is if we continue to grow population at about 3% annually, like we have for 200+ years.

And of that 3%, 2% has come from immigrants. Without it- we’d be the population and GDP of France or Germany. China was on pace to pass us in 29 years. With trump’s immigration it’s more like 10-15. For 150 odd years there were literally no laws on immigration at all. We accepted all comers regardless of skill- and the economy grew just fine.

Laws are fine now- but we need to open the floodgates. 2%/ year. 7M, who come and stay. Every year.

Or the world is led by by an authoritarian semi communist regime. Oh- and we have a Cold War as they pass us. Probablynsomenproxy wars.
