About to start a job at 2x my previous salary, but Im already quite comfortable. What to do with surplus income?

This is all super helpful.

I dont plan to live any more extravagantly than I already do. I've been victim of lifestyle creep before and that wasnt particularly fun when it bit me on the behind.

I hadnt thought of treating myself to be honest. I've typically bought the things I like over the last few years, but honestly a new beefy laptop for work/gaming would be nice. Or perhaps some 'smart' gadgets around the house.

Im definitely keeping schtum about the payrise, only a couple people know about it, and a couple more have a vague idea. These are all people I trust immensely however.

I do want to educate myself with how to make my cash work for me. I have a long-term goal of working for myself but Im still quite early in planning this, figuring out how to make my money work until I believe Im ready to dive further into that plan would be great.
